cheers guys, i love this type of shit, been thinking about future military hardware since i was a kid.
thanks campbell, i tried to muster a bit more effort for this one and make it more finished...
i'd love to see something like this in a film firing its rail gun in a dirty urban environment, hyper kinetic rounds kicking up dust shockwaves like a tank cannon...
Awesome concept! scarily realistic! I can actually imagine Boston Dynamics making something like this in a couple of decades! (maybe without the rail gun though for our sakes) lol
you mean ol' Briareos Hecatonchires? if so, that's a big complement! shirow is the fucking man! the best! pity he's all tentacle porn now...
and yep, the head has two weapons, the upper is a large caliber caseless dual-feed cannon (HE rounds and incendiary), and the lower is a non lethal or special warhead weapon, with p90 style magazine under the chin.
To reload small one you have to replace lower jaw, funny! :)
Yeah, Briareos! Even color scheme... Kind of future sentinel. Rail gun type rifle looks like sniper one, ammo clip is on the top "p90" style, it seems you like this gun.
I just saw the Keloid trailer and I was blown away. I found out about it by io9 and in their description they claim this is a 'power suit' but that doesn't seem possible.
Can I ask if the design is intended as a robot, drone, or suit?
Hey Roy, my thinking with the original design was that it's an autonomous robot. But in the context of Keloid perhaps they are either remote piloted, or sub-sentient drone troops.

Total hotness. I like your block headed robots and guns.

Ressembles me the guy from Appleseed. The head is armed with 2 weapons?

ReplyDeleteTremendous stuff Aaron, really smart, world class designs.
ReplyDeleteWhat process or software do you use? I'm looking to learn how to design in a similar fashion.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
ReplyDeleteThe talented guys at BLR used this design in their new project, Keloid. Check out the trailer here:

Hey Cooley, I paint in photoshop and sometimes use photos that I work over.
Hey man this thing is awesome!! Looked even better in the Keloid short. Can't wait to see more work from you!
